For those who crave a bit if independence, the Moulin de Gouge has two stylish Gites, both attached to the main house this self-contained accomodation can sleep up to 4 adults and 3 children (Bunk beds). Each has a fully fitted shower room (with an extra en-suite upstairs if 4 adults are staying), a fully equipped kitchen and a Living/Dining area with broadband internet access & satellite TV, DVD & CD/MP3 player. The Gites comprise the ground and first floor of what was the old barn attached to the mill, and both have their own private entrance and are close to the shared pool and barbecue area.....
All linen & towels for the Gite and the pool are provided, as are crockery, cutlery, glasses. Guests have access to a washing machine which can be used once twice a week during your stay and if you're nice to Jackie you get access to her extensive DVD collection any time you like.

Although we leave you a 'welcome basket' with some essentials for when you arrive, you'll need to 'stock up' for all those Barbecues and afternoons round the pool, the local town of Aigre with shops & restaurants is about 3 Km away and there is a small but well stocked supermarket about 1.5 Km distant on the way into town. Several bikes are available (free of charge) on a 'first come-first served' basis for kids and adults, so why not stay fit into the bargain....
Although the accomodation is essentially 'Self Catering', Jackie will be delighted to serve a home cooked traditional evening meal in the mill, using mainly local or home grown ingredients, at a very reasonable price - all you have to do is let us know in the morning that you will be wanting to eat with us & our other guests.
The shared Swimming Pool is salt water, so less nasty chlorine to irritate your eyes. The pool has an alarm system that conforms to French regulations but kids will need to be supervised at all times around the pool and near the river.
Your children will probably be 'supervised' most of the time by our border collie, but he will appreciate your help as not only does the mill have a pool, but a river & a natural spring in the garden.
We're not big on 'house rules', but we would ask only that the Gite & the house remain a 'No Smoking' area - even I have to go outside to smoke!
As much as possible of the original charm of the original building has been retained, with a wealth of exposed beams and oak studwork and traditionally pointed Charentaise stone walls on view in most rooms. Windows to the back of the Gite overlook the pool & the bread oven, and the bedrooms to the front look out over the river and fields surronding the mill.
